Army spouse arrives in Europe, immediately impacts people’s lives

Katie Weschler and Maj. Leonard Weschler, the executive officer for Army Field Support Battalion Mannheim, 405th Army Field Support Brigade, pose for a photo in front of some of the items they purchased for Afghan evacuees being housed at Ramstein Air Base and Rhine Ordnance Barracks, Kaiserslautern. They raised over $6,500 to purchase needed clothing, blankets, boots and other items for the evacuees.

405th AFSB holds commander’s forum to define priorities, align efforts

The 405th Army Field Support Brigade held a commander’s forum Aug. 24-26 at the Armstrong’s Club in Vogelweh, Kaiserslautern, Germany. Pictured here, forum attendees pose for as group photo. In attendance were battalion command teams and Logistics Readiness Center directors, as well as their deputies and some of their senior leaders. Also present were representatives from Logistics Civil Augmentation Program-Europe and LOGCAP-Africa, several senior Logistics Assistance Representatives, Base Operations Transportation and BASOPS Maintenance, the brigade’s primary staff and the brigade command group.

405th AFSB establishes facilities for 4,200 Afghan evacuees in Germany, Kosovo

05th Army Field Support Brigade Logistics Civil Augmentation Program-Europe contractors set up billeting tents to support Operation Allies Refuge at Rhine Ordnance Barracks in Kaiserslautern, Germany, Aug. 25. Operation Allies Refuge is facilitating the quick, safe evacuation of U.S. citizens, Special Immigrant Visa applicants and other at-risk Afghans from Afghanistan. This initiative follows through on America’s commitment to Afghan citizens who have helped the United States, and provides them essential support at secure locations, where they and their families can complete the SIV process safely.
