Class VIII medical supply and equipment containers are loaded onto Army line-haul transporters at the Dülmen Army Prepositioned Stocks-2 worksite to be convoyed from Dülmen to Baumholder, Germany, for DEFENDER 24. An Army Prepositioned Stocks-2 staging grid is set at Libava, ready to issue an entire cavalry APS-2 equipment set to the 1st Squadron, 150th Cavalry Regiment from the West Virginia Army National Guard for DEFENDER 24. The 405th Army Field Support Brigade’s Army Field Support Battalion-Africa has established an Equipment Configuration and Hand-off Area in Libava, and over the course of the next couple of days the battalion from Livorno, Italy, will be conducting technical inspections of all the tactical vehicles, basic issue items and support equipment with Soldiers from the 1st Squadron, 150th Cav. Regt., the gaining tactical unit.

DEFENDER is the Dynamic Employment of Forces to Europe for NATO Deterrence and Enhanced Readiness, and is a U.S. European Command scheduled, U.S. Army Europe and Africa conducted exercise that consists of Saber Strike, Immediate Response, and Swift Response. DEFENDER 24 is linked to NATO’s Steadfast Defender exercise, and DoD’s Large Scale Global Exercise, taking place from 28 March to 31 May. DEFENDER 24 is the largest U.S. Army exercise in Europe and includes more than 17,000 U.S. and 23,000 multinational service members from more than 20 Allied and partner nations, including Croatia, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Georgia, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.

405th AFSB’s HAZMAT reuse centers, program saves Army $520,000 since 2021
September 2, 2022 — Recently the hazardous material management program team received a call from Ramstein Air Base. The Air Force there had some containers of fuel additive they no longer needed, and they wanted to know if the HMMP team could help. The team called an Army aviation unit in Ansbach, Germany, and sure enough – the unit said yes – and the fuel additive containers, which were otherwise earmarked for HAZMAT disposal, were transferred... 405th AFSB, 1st Inland Cargo Transfer Company using new ramp system – a first in Europe
August 30, 2022 — To help expedite the movement of more than 5,000 Army Prepositioned Stocks-2 vehicles and equipment pieces, the 405th Army Field Support Brigade has teamed up with movement control and transportation experts from the 1st Inland Cargo Transfer Company, 39th Transportation Battalion, and a new prototype modular ramp system is being used for the first time to load equipment onto transport trucks in support of real-world operations... LRC Bavaria employee who joined Army looking for direction now has 34 years of service
August 29, 2022 — Growing up in Brooklyn, N.Y., without a father figure was hard. He didn’t have a male role model to emulate, but he did have some close friends who were talking about the Army. “I was looking for direction, and I had some friends who were enlisting. This got me interested,” said James Garcia. “I wanted to gain experience, and I wanted the educational benefits the Army was offering so I went to see a recruiter.” Thirty-four years later, the property book officer at Logistics Readiness Center Bavaria said he’s got no regrets. ...
