Biondi Andrea is an electronics mechanic and small arms repair specialist assigned to the maintenance directorate of Army Field Support Battalion-Africa, 405th Army Field Support Brigade, at Leghorn Army Depot in Livorno, Italy. He’s been working at Leghorn for 39 years. He said the Soldiers he and his team support couldn’t complete their missions without the proper equipment in good working condition. “We keep our equipment fully mission capable and ready for issue 24/7,” he said.

405th AFSB issues 900 APS-2 equipment pieces to Pennsylvania Army National Guard unit for DEFENDER-Europe 22

When the 1st Battalion, 109th Field Artillery Regiment arrived in Lithuania recently to take part in U.S. Army Europe and Africa’s premier annual training exercise, all of the equipment the Pennsylvania Army National Guard unit needed for DEFENDER-Europe 22 was lined up and ready to go. More than 900 pieces of fully mission capable Army Prepositioned Stocks-2 from the 405th Army Field Support Brigade was issued to the Army National Guard Soldiers from the 55th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, 28th Infantry Division, at a forward Equipment Configuration and Hand-off Area, or ECHA, in Pabradė, May 10-12.

The equipment the engineers signed for was issued to them by the 405th Army Field Support Brigade. Part of the 405th AFSB’s Army Prepositioned Stocks-2 program, this particular set of equipment was transported from Army Field Support Battalion-Benelux’s APS-2 worksite in Eygelshoven, Netherlands, to Slovakia for DEFENDER-Europe 22.
