Military spouse for over two decades turned Army civilian now LRC Italy’s employee of year
February 22, 2023 — If being a military spouse is more than a walk in the park than being a military spouse who also serves as a supervisory Army civilian employee is a walk in the park, a hike over mountains and a swim across open seas. Hilary Cunningham knows this all too well. Her husband works global force management at U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa. Hilary Cunningham is the supervisory traffic management specialist with Logistics Readiness Center Italy. She worked for a private-sector moving company in the U.S. before moving back to Italy. She is now in charge of a 6-person quality assurance and quality control team at LRC Italy responsible for ensuring U.S. Army Garrison Italy’s community members successfully receive their inbound household goods in Italy and successfully ship those same items from Italy without any problems or major concerns. Shoulder to shoulder, the U.S. and its NATO partners stand together in defense of the European Theater and the good people who live here. Mannheim battalion prepares, ships M2 Bradleys from APS-2 site to help train Ukrainian forces
February 7, 2023 — Over the course of about a year, Army Field Support Battalion-Mannheim has issued more than 7,000 APS-2 vehicles and equipment pieces in support of U.S. European Command’s mission to enable the rapid deployment of troops to the European theater and show support to our allies. This includes equipment used to train Ukrainian forces, such as the recent movement and issue of dozens of M2A2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles for training. ... MORE

Baumholder transportation office’s unofficial mascot, Merlin, and his human to retire soon
February 1, 2023 — When customers visit the transportation office at Baumholder to set up a pack-out appointment or attend a transportation briefing, they are greeted by a friendly, receptive staff. But one staffer stands out. He’s friendly, fuzzy, receptive and really cute. His name in Merlin. Merlin the Spanish rescue dog is the transportation office’s unofficial mascot. He comes to work with his human almost every day, perches himself on a special chair fit for a prince, wags his tail perpetually and offers greetings to everyone who visits. His human is the local national chief of transportation, and she’s been working there almost 44 years. ... MORE
