Robin Siller, mechatronic apprentice BASOPS Maintenance Division in his third year , performs repairs on a  garrison scraper at the Maintenance Activity Vilseck building, Vilseck Oct. 29. After three and a half years of training in the division’s automotive section apprentices have to pass two exams to become a certified mechanic, with the option to earn further certifications as a Service Technician, Meister, or Techniker. Since 1998, BASOPS Maintenance, a directorate of the 405th AFSB, certifies and trains youth in a variety of directorate related fields, ranging from electronics repairman to contracting officer representative, supply specialist to administrative assistance
