By Cameron Porter 405th Army Field Support Brigade

The 405th Army Field Support Brigade conducted a Rehearsal of Concept Drill Feb. 19 in preparation for the U.S. Army Europe and Africa led DEFENDER-Europe 21 exercise scheduled for this spring. During the 405th AFSB ROC drill, the brigade staff as well as representatives from the battalions, the Logistics Civil Augmentation Program and other 405th AFSB assets presented a detailed operational overview of support to DEFENDER-Europe 21. The briefings, presented to the 405th AFSB commander and command sergeant major, were conducted virtually, and more than 100 personnel participated.

DEFENDER-Europe 21 is a series of USAREUR-AF led field training, live fire and command post exercises in coordination with U.S. allies and partners here in Europe that demonstrates the capabilities of the total force while promoting stability and security, strengthening partnerships and fostering trust in the region.

The 405th AFSB is assigned to U.S. Army Sustainment Command and under the operational control of the 21st Theater Sustainment Command, USAREUR-AF. The brigade is headquartered in Kaiserslautern, Germany, and provides materiel enterprise support to U.S. Forces throughout Europe and Africa – providing theater sustainment logistics; synchronizing acquisition, logistics and technology; and leveraging the U.S. Army Materiel Command materiel enterprise to support joint forces.
