Support the Warrior

The 405th Army Field Support Brigade – assigned to the U.S. Army Sustainment Command is headquartered at Daenner Kaserne, Kaiserslautern, Germany, and provides Materiel Enterprise support to U.S. forces throughout Europe and Africa – providing theater sustainment logistics; synchronizing acquisition, logistics and technology; and leveraging the U.S. Army Materiel Command's Materiel Enterprise to support joint forces.

OUR MISSION: The 405th Army Field Support Brigade operationalizes U.S. Army Materiel Command capabilities and delivers anticipatory readiness within the U.S. Army Europe and Africa Command areas of responsibility at the point of need.

OUR VISION: The 405th Army Field Support Brigade is the premier logistics integrator and synchronizer, enabling readiness solutions to Support the Warrior while maintaining a cohesive team and taking care of families.

Army Prepositioned Stocks Program

The Army Prepositioned Stocks Program builds strategically prepositioned critical war stocks to reduce response times as part of the European Reassurance Initiative and facilitates NATO’s rapid deterrence plans
Logistics Assistance Program

The Logistics Assistance Program provides technical support for all Army fielded equipment, to include early detection and resolution of problems or trends that have an adverse impact on unit operational readiness.
Logistics Civil Augmentation Program

The Logistics Civil Augmentation Program provides Base Life Support and Sustainment Services to deployed forces, during contingency operations within EUCOM and AFRICOM to support U.S. national strategic objectives.
Logistics Readiness Center

The Logistics Readiness Center executes installation logistics: supply, maintenance, transportation, food service, clothing issue facility, hazardous material, personal property/household goods, passenger travel, non-tactical vehicles, and garrison equipment.

LRC Italy HAP supports displaced Ukrainians entering Moldova

A formation of newly arrived Joint Light Tactical Vehicles lines up at Coleman worksite, assigned to the 405th Army Field Support Brigade’s Army Prepositioned Stock-2 site there. More than 650 JLTVs are arriving to the APS-2 site in Mannheim, Germany, over the next few weeks. The Coleman APS-2 site is the first APS site in the world to receive the JLTVs, which are replacing the Army’s Humvees.

Joint Light Tactical Vehicles arrive at APS-2 site in Mannheim

When he first started working at Leghorn Army Depot for the U.S. Army in 1984, he and his fellow employees had less than 100 pieces of rolling stock they worked with, and the mechanical condition of the equipment was not their responsibility.

Now, 36 years later – at that same Army depot in Livorno, Italy – the Army Field Support Battalion-Africa deputy support operations officer says his team is responsible for over 3,000 pieces of equipment, to include their serviceability and operational condition.

“We’ve grown tremendously,” said Massimo Carpina, who started out as a care and preservation servicer and rose through the ranks to eventually become one of AFSBn-Africa’s senior leaders.

AFSBn-Africa supports USAREUR-AF mission growth

Over 500 armored vehicles are stored and maintained at the Army Prepositioned Stock-2 worksite on Coleman Barracks – everything from M1 Abrams tanks, M2 Bradley fighting vehicles and self-propelled howitzers to staff tracked vehicles, armored personnel carriers and more.
