405th AFSB’s Africa battalion hosts Italian admiral at its APS-2 worksite

By Cameron Porter 405th Army Field Support Brogade

Italian Naval Academy Commander Rear Admiral Flavio Biaggi visited Army Field Support Battalion Africa at Leghorn Army Depot Oct. 14 to receive a tour of its facilities and a capabilities briefing reference the battalion’s Army Prepositioned Stock-2 operations and worksite.

The AFSBn Africa command team said the visit was a good military-to-military relationship building opportunity, and they look forward to the possibility of hosting a future Leadership Professional Development seminar with the Italian admiral and his cadets at the APS-2 worksite in the weeks to come.

The 405th Army Field Support Brigade’s AFSBn Africa at Leghorn Army Depot is U.S. Army Europe and Africa’s premier power projection platform south of the Alps, supporting both the European and the African theaters of operations.

The 405th AFSB is assigned to U.S. Army Sustainment Command and under the operational control of the 21st Theater Sustainment Command, U.S. Army Europe and Africa. The brigade is headquartered in Kaiserslautern, Germany, and provides materiel enterprise support to U.S. Forces throughout Europe and Africa – providing theater sustainment logistics; synchronizing acquisition, logistics and technology; and leveraging the U.S. Army Materiel Command’s materiel enterprise to support joint forces.
