About us

Formerly know as Army Field Support Battalion-Mannheim, the newly designated Army Field Support Battalion-Poland is one of the four battalions of the 405th Army Field Support Brigade and is headquartered at Mannheim, Germany, but soon will be taking mission command of the new Long Term Equipment Storage and Maintenance-Complex (LTESM-C) in Powidz, Poland.

The battalion is charged with providing and coordinating receipt, transfer, storage, and maintenance of APS to enable commanders to conduct unified action and the full range of military operations in support of U.S. Army Europe.

The APS stored in Europe are designated APS-2. The Coleman APS-2 worksite in Mannheim, Germany, holds and maintains equipment designated for an armored brigade combat team. Coleman Worksite’s close proximity to the Autobahn as well as access to rail and barge loading facilities makes it an important element to U.S. Army Europe and Africa’s readiness posture

Some of the APS-2 equipment at the Mannheim site is destined for a NATO-funded APS-2 storage facility, the LTESM-C, being constructed in Powidz, Poland, which will provide an additional 600,000 square feet of humidity controlled warehouse storage with a robust maintenance facility. Both APS-2 sites are part of the European Reassurance Initiative and facilitates NATO’s rapid deterrence options.
