About us

Army Field Support Battalion - Germany, headquartered at Rose Barracks in
Vilseck, Germany, is responsible for providing and coordinating tactical and
operational sustainment to ensure theater readiness and enable commanders
to conduct the full range of military operations in direct support of the U.S.
Army Europe.

AFSBn - Germany provides logistics assistance to commanders confronted
with challenges beyond their resources or capabilities. The battalion performs
this function through the employment of the Army Material Command's
Logistics Assistance Program (AMC-LAP), composed of technically proficient
Logistics Management Specialists (LMS's) from the Army Sustainment
Command (ASC) and Logistics Assistance Representatives (LARs) from
the U.S. Army Materiel Command Life Cycle Management Commands.

Their primary mission is to analyze unit materiel readiness and assist in
resolving equipment readiness issues on a regional and general support basis
throughout the European theater of operations.

The LAP program focuses on the early detection and resolution of
logistic-related problems that may affect unit and material readiness. Primary
focus is on the logistical assessments in coordination with the supported
commands to determine current status, historical trends, and to provide
corrective and preventative measures for improving unit and command
readiness.LAP provides a wide-range of support to units and their soldiers
in the garrison before, during, and after deployments, including exercises,
humanitarian operations, and contingencies.

AFSBn-Germany also maintains oversight and mission command of Army Prepositioned Stocks-2 operations at the Dülmen APS-2 worksite in Germany, and is charged with providing and coordinating receipt, transfer, storage and maintenance of APS-2 at that location. The APS-2 site Dülmen provides 632,000 square feet of climate controlled warehouse space (eight warehouses) and 175,000 square feet of hardstand storage to hold and maintain equipment designated for multiple units, such as a division headquarters and a division artillery brigade.

New arrivals to the Dülmen APS-2 worksite site can obtain newcomer's information from the servicing garrison for that installation, USAG Benelux, here.
