Deputy to the Commander


Mr. Stephen Lockridge | Deputy to the Commander, 405th AFSB

Mr. Stephen W. Lockridge came to the 405th on 22 September 2012. Previously he served a year deployed as Deputy to the Commander, 402nd Army Field Support Brigade (AFSB), where they planned and executed the historic retrograde of US Army equipment during the final days of OND in Iraq. He has served at the 405th AFSB before as the S3 up until 2006.

In July 2009, Mr. Lockridge was appointed Director of AMC's Logistics Assistance Program (LAP) at Rock Island Arsenal. Working with the LCMCs, he standardized the program to ensure common treatment of all LARs and the re-write of LAP regulations.

Mr. Lockridge has also served as Deputy to the Commander, 407th Army Field Support Brigade at Ft Hood from October 2006 thru June 2009. He was previously the Chief, Plans and Operations (S3) of AFSB-Europe for three years. Mr. Lockridge has served in various senior level logistics assignments throughout his twenty-six years in the Logistics Assistance Program with Army Materiel Command. He has served in several key positions, to include Deputy to the Commander, AFSB-Iraq (2004), Senior Command Representative for Soldier Biological & Chemical Command, Senior Technical Advisor with Missile Command's Security Assistance Management Directorate (Jeddah, KSA), as Logistics Assistance Representative and System Coordinator with MICOM in Germany and as a LAP manager at the Logistics Support Activity.

Having extensive logistics planning, management and deployment experience around the globe with operations such as Operation New Dawn, Iraqi Freedom, Just Cause, Task Force Falcon, Enduring Freedom, and Desert Shield/Storm, he is considered an authority on logistics plans and operations, to include mobilization, deployment and employment of Army Materiel Command support capabilities.

Mr. Lockridge has received many awards and accolades including the Meritorious Civilian Service Award, two Superior Civilian Service Awards and four Commander's Awards. He earned his Bachelors Degree in Business Management from the University of Maryland and is a graduate of the Logistics Executive Development Course and the Army Management Staff College. He has attended Program Management for Executives I & II, the Senior Manager's Course and is an Army Acquisition Corps member.

Before his Department of the Army career, Mr. Lockridge served as a missile technician for six years in the U.S. Navy, then four years with the PATRIOT program at Raytheon.
